Prior to forming Parallel and Parallel Holdings, Mr. Schechter was the President and founder of Parallel Capital LLC, a national real estate lender and one of the first non-bank conduit lenders, with more than 20 offices throughout the United States.

An acquisition and structuring specialist in income producing real estate, Mr. Schechter previously was managing partner of TCS Group, L.P., a holding company that owned and managed several thousand apartment units in the New York metropolitan area.

Before his TCS position, he was a joint venture partner with Hamilton Savings Bank, a California institution, overseeing the bank’s real estate loan investments on the East Coast. He also served as Director of Management of Omnia Properties, Inc., a real estate management and investment company with a portfolio of properties primarily in the New York Metropolitan area and Texas.

Mr. Schechter is a graduate of Vassar College and of the New York University School of Law.
